Put together; 4 musicians, 10 Music Degrees, 8 languages , 6 nationalities, a healthy distaste for the music establishment and a uni-cycle. Then you get the heady cocktail which is Payazen! Klezmer Band.

Our music is firmly based in the tradition of the Jewish Diaspora but we take colours from across the musical spectrum. We bring together the intimacy of European Chamber Music, the infectious groove of Jazz, the rhythmic complexity and accuracy of Karnatic (Indian Classical) Music and the trance-like state of Late 60's Psychedelia.

Since 2009 we have played across Europe to delighted audiences everywhere from street corners to pubs, concert halls and festival stages alike. We've wooed Tuscan beauties and in dark Irish bars men have see their wives beautiful again as they turned and hitched their skirts to our enchanting Yiddish melodies. In European Concert Halls enraptured audiences listened with bated breath to the exquisite agony of every joyously melancholic note and in Budapest Gin Joints we drove the throng into a frenzy of delight fuelled by our ferocious and virtuosic rhythm and melody.
